The 2020 5K Run/Walk will be virtual!   Elitefeats, the management company that we have used from the beginning has plenty of experience with virtual races.  You can run (or walk) beginning Thanksgiving Day, November 26 through Sunday, December 6.  Upload your best time!  Sponsorships are available for T-Shirts as well as the very popular #1 Fan sign that many families and classes took last year.  Registration for the 5K, sponsorships, and T-Shirt only ordering are all available at this link.  Please help us turn this virtual event into a real success!  

We are excited to offer the School Dance Program.  Girls and boys in grades N through 8 may participate in the school's Dance Program.  This year the classes will be after school and virtual.  Classes will be taught by Stacie Nelson.  Ms. Nelson has been teaching the dance program at our school since 1996.  She is the owner/director of The N.Y. The annual fall candy sale is being modified this year.  We ask that you pre-order your box of Hershey products.  The XL Variety Box contains the best-selling items made by Hershey.  We are requesting that each family agrees to participate by selling just one box.  Please place orders by Friday, October 16.  The order form is attached.

Sister's family and school leaders all agreed that a most appropriate way to honor Sister is by establishing a scholarship in her memory.  Donations can be made at this secure online site.  Each year a graduating 8th grader will be recognized for exemplifying "faith in action through service."

 

St. Brigid's Parish Outreach invites you to break bread and share a bowl of soup at the Lenten Soup Supper.  The gathering takes place on Tuesday, March 3 beginning at 6 pm in Monsignor Code Auditorium.  The guest speaker is the Most Reverend Andzej Zglejszewski (Bishop On-jay), Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre.  Please bring a non-perishable food item as an offering for the Outreach Pantry.  Please register online if you plan to attend.  

Student Council is sponsoring a Dress Down Day on Friday, February 14 to celebrate St. Valentine's Day. The spirit colors are red, white and/or pink. Donate $1 to Dollars for Scholars in order to participate. Dollars for Scholars provides scholarships to eighth graders at graduation. Thank you for participating.

We are excited to announce a new automatic re-enrollment policy. Enrollment automatically renews each year until your child graduates from 8th grade. The purpose is to make it as easy as possible to re-enroll without going through an annual process of completing paperwork. For more information, see the attached document. Print out the acknowledgement form and return it to the office before January 24, 2020.

Registration is OPEN for our Early Childhood Programs for 2, 3 and 4 year olds, Full Day Kindergarten, and grades 1 through 8.  We offer our students and families a safe and faith filled learning environment.

On June 13, 2019, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed legislation removing non-medical exemptions from school vaccination requirements for children. The United States is currently experiencing the worst outbreak of measles in more than 25 years, with outbreaks in pockets of New York primarily driving the crisis. This new law will help protect the public amid this ongoing outbreak. NB: It has been the policy of our school NOT to accept children who are not vaccinated. There are three attachments for further information.

We are planning our Annual Fall Middle School Trip. We visit Boston, Washington and Philadelphia on a three-year cycle. This year we are going to Boston and Salem, Massachusetts on November 7 and 8. Our itinerary includes a Duck Tour of Boston on land and the Charles River aboard an amphibious vehicle, the Museum of Science, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Marketplace, a walking tour of the Freedom Trail, the Gallows Hill Experience in Salem including an interactive Mock Witch Trial, and Gallows Hill Walking Ghost Tour. The Scholastic Book Fair is coming! Book Fair dates are Thursday, December 5 and Friday, December 6 during the school day for students. Evening event is Friday, December 6, from 7 pm to 9 pm. The Parents’ Association will have a Christmas Boutique during Breakfast With Santa on December 15 and on Monday, December 16 during school hours. The Boutique will be located in the lobby of Monsignor Code Auditorium. Gifts are available for friends and family - even pets! Prices are from 50¢ to $14.00. Most items are under $3.00.
